A T'ai Chi Summer HolidaySunday 7 August – Saturday 13 August 2005Nijmegen, The Netherlands
The Stichting School of T’ai Chi Chuan (STCC) is pleased to announce its annual 5-day summer holiday for 2005. This will be our 11th successive year in Nijmegen, Holland, at the beautiful Jonkerbosch Conference Centre. The program will provide a wonderful opportunity to take a break from the pressures of daily life for both newcomers and regulars. The conference centre provides an intimate venue for our training with a courtyard garden, a friendly bar / café, and is set in attractive grounds which include a miniature golf course. Meals are fully catered and refreshments are provided throughout the day. The centre is situated near one of Holland’s most beautiful nature reserves: nearby lakes reflect the peace and serenity of the area. As well as offering a wide range of courses, the workshop schedule allows enough time to enjoy a drink with new friends, stroll through historic Nijmegen, take a dip at an outdoor swimming pool, visit the nearby luxury spa, or take part in one of our evening programs. Our theatre evening has gained quite a reputation over the years, with skits, songs and music being performed enthusiastically and, occasionally, with talent! The holiday week concludes with a special last-night party.. Kids Love "Kids' Camp"!While parents enjoy their own classes, children of all ages can enjoy a range of organised activities. Dedicated Kids' Camp staff will keep children happy, safe and occupied with various activities, including arts and crafts, excursions, and free play. Activities are organised for children of all ages (0 - 10 years) and for teens. Children aged 5-14, accompanied by a parent or caregiver if necessary, can participate in T’ai Chi Kids’ Gamessm. Using specially developed games, they become familiar with T’ai Chi principles and the T’ai Chi Form. Kids Camp gives parents and caregivers the freedom to fully participate in the T’ai Chi day, while sharing meals and free-time with their children. The relaxed and fun atmosphere of Kids Camp adds a special quality to the training as a whole. All levels T’ai Chi
Learning on whatever level, the intensive, residential format allows participants to immerse in T’ai Chi and experience deeper levels of awareness. In this way, the knowledge of the art and its meaning in daily life will be enriched. Beginning students will learn the sequence of moves step-by-step from a team of experienced teachers. Each class includes group instruction with clear indications, demonstrations, practice and hands-on help with positions and moves. Advanced students will do push hands, sword, and/or form-work “workshop-style” led by senior teachers. The daily schedule also includes either Eight Wayssm or Time in the Artsm. A refreshing way to complement the intensive T’ai Chi is Hawaiian Swimming. In separate classes for children and adults (beginners and advanced), the original swimming technique used by the Hawaiian warriors from the Huna tradition is presented, using T’ai Chi principles of timing, balance and relaxation. T’ai Chi and MeditationIn STCC, T’ai Chi practice and meditation go hand in hand. This union recognises that relaxation is not just about the body but also about the mind and the spirit. The self-development and spiritual work complements and accelerates the process of relaxation and has always been part of STCC’s T’ai Chi tradition. Most meditations come from the Arica© School. Arica© is a School of Knowledge that presents a contemporary method for self-awareness. Such Schools have existed since antiquity for the benefit of Humanity. All T'ai Chi trainings are complemented with one hour of supportive meditation. More Information? Please download:
