Tai chi chuan is an ancient exercise which embodies China’s most profound concepts and principles of health and movement.
It offers true harmony between body and mind.

Who Was Professor Cheng Man Ch’ing?

Our tai chi comes from Cheng Man Ch’ing (1901-1975) who was the Master of the Five Excellences: painting, calligraphy, poetry, traditional Chinese medicine, and tai chi chuan. He studied tai chi under the guidance of Yang Cheng Fu.

Why The Tai Chi Foundation?

TCF has developed a well-established path to learning the tai chi form – a unique curriculum of progressive courses. We teach in teams, so there is always someone to follow as you turn, and two teachers to watch, listen to and learn from.

What Are Tai Chi Benefits?

Regular practice of tai chi nourishes the body, mind, and spirit. Internal relaxation helps to regulate the flow of your internal energy (qi) through your whole body, bringing you not just health, but a sense of wellbeing, and more conscious awareness.

How Do We Train As Tai Chi Teachers?

TCF has been training teachers in our unique curriculum and team-teaching method since 1976. Teachers continue to develop at international teacher training weeks led twice a year by our most senior teachers – our legacy holders.

Your life

Tai chi movements are widely acknowledged to help calm the emotions, focus the mind, and strengthen the immune system. Practiced at a slow and even speed, tai chi promotes relaxation, straight posture, and balance. In a very real sense, tai chi helps us to stay younger as we grow older, thus making an outstanding contribution to our overall health and well-being.
