The T’ai Chi Foundation Inc (TCF) and The School of Tai Chi Chuan (STCC)
Please note that the organization was incorporated with the proper usage and spelling of the word “t’ai”. We use the word with and without the apostrophe.
Founded in 1976, The School of Tai Chi Chuan, Inc. (STCC) reflects the vision of Patrick Watson, who set out to create a school of tai chi teachers to preserve and transmit the movements and principles of the tai chi form developed by his teacher, Cheng Man-Ch’ing. Our unique team teaching method has allowed the school to grow through the years following Patrick’s death in 1992. The STCC is a division of the TCF. There are 33 STCC member schools throughout the world.
The T’ai Chi Foundation Inc, (TCF) founded in 1979, is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization founded and incorporated in New York. TCF produces or co-sponsors annual in-person and online training events throughout the world, provides financial support for STCC’s training events, produces special projects such as video training and classes, and conducts curriculum development regularly. The TCF oversees the Certification Program, a TCF-credentialed process.
